People getting into a canoe

No one knows Boy Scouts like us.  Our owner is an Eagle Scout and Scoutmaster.  Our sons are Eagle Scouts and we are long-time adult Scouters.  We welcome Scouts and other youth groups.  We work with Scout and Youth Leaders to provide the best canoe routes and itineraries to meet the needs of your specific group.  Experience and age are key factors in making a Boy Scout High Adventure trip or Youth Group trip a success. We understand this and will work with you to plan a memorable, safe and fun adventure.

No other Boundary Waters Outfitter in Ely offers the quality of lodging that is found at Williams and Hall.  We have a variety of accomodations that are sure to fit your needs.  In addition we have a full service dining room serving breakfast and dinner daily throughout the season.  You will enjoy great hospitality with us before and after your wilderness adventure.

Whether you are a seasoned canoe veteran or first-timer, we can outfit you with the right equipment to insure a successful, fun and safe wilderness adventure experience.  We are North America's only canoeing outfitter specializing in ultra-light outfitting.  We feature WeNoNah lightweight kevlar canoes and the best in paddling equipment.  Our food is custom packaged for us and offers great variety and value by saving weight and bulk without sacrificing flavor or nutrition.  We also offer a full range of BWCA permits and BWCA maps.  We provide complimentary routing assistance to get you where you want to go in the Boundary Waters.

Boundary Waters Outfitters

The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, BWCAW, has over 2,000 miles of canoe routes and is North America's premier wilderness paddling destination. The BWCAW and Ontario's Quetico Park Comprise the area we collectively call the Boundary Waters.

Superior Experience and Location

Williams & Hall has over 50 years of experience outfitting and guiding our customers safely through more than 2000 miles of wilderness paddling routes in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCA) and Quetico Park. The BWCAW and Quetico are home to pristine waters, incredible fishing, abundant wildlife and pure wilderness adventure at its finest.

Moose Lake is the best departure point for your BWCA canoe trip because you don't start with a car trip or long portage. In addition, more Canadian and Minnesota canoe country routes are available from Moose Lake than anywhere else in the Ely area.  Since our dock is less than 1/2 mile from the edge of the BWCA, you can start your trip paddling right from our base.  Or we can give you a tow (water shuttle) to jump start your adventure.  Since we are only a few miles from Quetico Park, we can also tow you right to the Canadian Border and Ranger Station.  You will not find a better place to be outfitted and begin your canoe country camping adventure.
